Web Site Design Process
Initial Client Interview
The purpose of the Initial Interview is for us to ascertain what sort of information you would like to have on your web site, discuss the proposed layout and answer any questions you may have relating to the design.
If this is your first web site, then we would suggest that you have a look at a few web sites within your industry. You can use the Google search engine and type the name of the industry you are in, eg "Cairns Accommodation" or a competitors name. This will give you a rough idea of the type of information other people are putting on the web and give you an indication of the number of pages needed.
It is recommended to have any brochures, photos, logos or anything else you may want to put on your web site ready at the first meeting as we will go through these materials and advise on their suitability, outline the site structure and discuss the proposed layout. You will also be advised if additional components such as shopping carts, real-time credit card processing or databases are required and their relevant pricing.
The initial meeting can be conducted at your office or ours. During the meeting specific ideas and strategies relating to your web site will be discussed and is considered part of the project and therefore a fee will be incurred. An hourly consulting fee of $55 per hour will be charged at the end of the meeting. This fee will be credited to your account upon engaging our services.
In order to commence work on designing your web site we will require a 50% deposit on the total estimated design costs plus the costs of any domain name registrations and web hosting fees if applicable.
We invite you to peruse through our portfolio to gauge an idea of the types of web sites we are able to produce but unfortunately we cannot provide any design concepts or mockups for uncommitted projects.
You can expect to have a fully functioning web site up and running in about 2-3 weeks for 5 page web site - we will provide a more accurate estimate upon reviewing your design brief.
Concept
We will begin working on a prototype based on the design brief from the Initial Interview.
During the course of development you will be given access to the working prototype to oversee the progress of your web site. Company colours and logos are incorporated into the design providing you with an overall picture of what the site will look like when it is completed.
You will then be presented with the prototype for your review to ensure that we have correctly translated your ideas and you will be given the opportunity to make changes and adjustments to the layout in case the design wasn't perfect.
By this stage you should have all the materials needed for the web site, photos, text and logos ready for us.
Final Prototype
The web site is now complete and thorough testing of your site ensures that when your web site goes "Live" it doesn't have "Web Page not found" messages, missing pictures and your email goes to the right people. We will not embarrass you to your clients and associates.
You will also be invoiced for the balance of the project fee.
Web Site Launch
Upon receipt of final balance we will upload your web site to the "Live" server and a once-off submission to the major search engines will be completed.
